Sometimes healing happens in ways that talking alone can’t reach
Virtual art psychotherapy for adults and youth, integrating experiential approaches with evidence-informed care.
Discover your capacity for meaningful, lasting change through a supported process of creative expression.

Hi, I’m Karen, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Professional Art Therapist
I work with women and children whose nervous systems and sense of self have been shaped by trauma, illness, neurodivergence, or chronic stress, particularly those who feel stuck or sense they need something different after trying conventional therapy.
I believe healing happens when there is enough safety, understanding, and support for change to unfold. My work integrates talk therapy with creative and experiential approaches that engage the body and senses, offering ways to explore your inner world when words aren’t comfortable, accessible, or enough.

You might be here because
- You’ve spent a lot of time in or out of therapy trying to understand yourself. You may know why you react the way you do, but you still feel stuck.
- You’re living in a body that has limits it didn’t have before, or you’re a caregiver for someone who is. Chronic illness, fatigue, or injury has disrupted your identity and sense of self, and you’re experiencing grief, frustration, or disorientation that is difficult to express.
- You’re chronically stressed, find yourself tolerating discomfort, or people-pleasing in your relationships. You’re burnt out and feeling disconnected from your own wants and needs.
- You’re struggling with self-trust, perfectionism, or a harsh inner critic. Your self-esteem and confidence feel shaky, and you have a deep fear of making mistakes.
- You’re a parent with a sensitive, creative child who is experiencing anxiety, withdrawal, sensory sensitivities, emotional overwhelm, and difficulty expressing what’s happening inside.
- You have always been creative or artistic by nature, but something along the way interrupted your sense of play, curiosity, or joy. It feels like an essential part of you is being suppressed or unfulfilled.
By engaging the senses through colour, texture, and movement, creative expression can access and give form to memories, emotions, and physical sensations that can’t always be put into words, so they can be witnessed, metabolised, and gradually transformed. This is what allows healing to go beyond insight and symptom management toward relief that feels embodied, integrated, and lasting.
Art therapy helps to shift what is held unconsciously in the body and nervous system, not just the mind.

My approach is holistic, relational, and trauma-informed.
I offer personalised support that meets you where you are, with care for what feels manageable. Sessions focus on what matters most to you, and honour your lived experience with compassion, curiosity, and respect. Together, we shape the pace and direction of our work in response to your needs and goals.
When used with intention, art materials become powerful therapeutic tools. I’ll help you understand the neuroscience behind their specific functions and benefits, so creativity becomes a resource you can return to long after our sessions end.
